Delivering Safe Drinking Water Treatment for Schools
Safe drinking water is a fundamental human right, and we focus on students, for whom clean water is vital for health, attendance, and learning.
Our Approach:
Cost-Effective and Scalable Solutions
We partner with schools, local governments, and local and global stakeholders across Kenya, Uganda, and Nigeria to bring safe water to as many students as possible, quickly and affordably. Our approach focuses on four interconnected priorities:
Strong Partnerships with Schools and Governments
Building collaborative relationships with governments and schools to align with local goals and scale effectively. These partnerships create shared ownership, ensuring sustainability and optimal impact.
Low-cost, Point-of-Use Treatment Technologies
Applying a technology-neutral approach to deploying cost-effective and reliable water treatment systems tailored to meet each school’s needs. Learn more about our technology here.
Continuous Engagement with Students and School Staff
Providing hands-on training and regular support to ensure proper use and maintenance of water treatment systems, while fostering a culture of safe water consumption through ongoing education and awareness campaigns.
Data-Driven Operations and Logistics
Leveraging real-time insights from school visits, monitoring, and rigorous quality checks, integrated with efficient logistics, to deliver, maintain, and optimize reliable and correct use of water systems.
"Kudos to Impact Water for its remarkable efforts in providing safe drinking water to schools. Thanks to this initiative, schools now benefit from multiple drinking points with treated water. This improvement has led to a noticeable decrease in student absenteeism and has positively impacted academic performance."
— Mr. Argwings, Sub County Director of Education for Kasarani, Nairobi
Governments Partnerships
Impact Water collaborates closely with the governments of Uganda, Kenya, and Nigeria to establish long-term partnerships that align with national education and health objectives.
